This study is evaluating whether adding XEN1101 to your current epilepsy medications can help reduce primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in people whose seizures are not fully controlled. There are no surgeries or implants involved. The study medication is a once-daily capsule taken by mouth, along with routine health checks, seizure tracking, and scheduled clinic visits. While benefits cannot be guaranteed, participating may provide access to a potential new treatment option and help researchers improve care for others living with generalized epilepsy.

Researchers want to find out whether adding XEN1101 to existing treatment can safely reduce the number of generalized tonic-clonic seizures.

If XEN1101 is effective, it may help some people experience fewer seizures and improve their quality of life. However, benefits cannot be guaranteed.
The study team will review your medical history, current medications, and seizure history. You'll complete health checks and record your seizures in a diary.
You will continue taking your regular anti-seizure medications and be randomly assigned to receive either XEN1101 or a placebo capsule once daily with your evening meal.
You may choose to join a separate long-term extension study to continue receiving XEN1101. If not, you'll attend follow-up visits.
